Pretty Baby![]() This tutorial is the property of hollys closet.com and has been written as an assignment for Winni's How To Write Tutorials Group. You are welcome to link to it but do not claim it as your own. What you'll need:
Okay, let's begin: Effects/3D/Cut/ ![]() 5, 5, 50, 7, black Repeat Cut with -5, -5 Step 4 Image/add border/5/symmetric/foreground color Selections/Select All Image/add border/15/symmetric/background color Selections/Invert Effects/3D/Inner Bevel ![]() Bevel 8, 10, 11, 20, 21, 12, foreground color, 315, 50, 30 Step 5 Select/Select All Image/add border/10/background color Selection/Invert Effects/3d/Inner Bevel Use the same settings but change the Bevel to 2. Selections/Select None Minimize your image Step 6 Open a new image 800x600 File/Save As the name for your final image. Floodfill with background color New Raster Layer Floodfill with foreground color Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image Select cat028 and apply Layers/Merge Group Duplicate the mask layer one to three times depending on the color. We want it to be dense enough to appear over our photograph. Close the background layer Layers/Merge/Merge Visible Step 7 Open and Select the background layer Effects/Texture
Restore or maximize your Image A. Copy/Paste as a new layer between the mask and the background. ![]() Step 8 There are a couple of ways you can proceed from here. First you can move the image up into the left corner so there's plenty of room for your text or you can use your pick tool and move the image to the right and rotate it a bit as I did in my sample. We will proceed with the second option. Add a drop shadow to the frame
Image/Resize/500 pixels on longest side Step 9 Activate the Text Tool Change your background to a darker tone of the same color. I used Comic Sans MS and here are the settings I used. Please especially note the Direction and the Kerning figures. This text will be vertical and the kerning will adjust the letters to be not too far apart. Resize the text using the vector nodes. Align it with the frame using the rotation node. Step 10 On the Text palette change the Direction back to center and Kerning to a plus figure. I used 59. Write the second part of your text beneath the picture and adjust it in the same way as before. Layers/Convert to Raster Layer Effects/3D/drop shadow ![]() 5, 5, 100, 10 Layers/Merge/merge visible Adjust/Brightness Contrast/Clarify/2 Step 11 Add your copyright recognition and your watermark on separate layers so you can adjust the opacity on each one. Save/Export to jpeg. That's it. Hope you enjoyed this tut as much as I enjoyed writing it. Here's an image I made with the first option, the photo remaining straight on the background. ![]() | |
