Iris Selection

Lesson 9 Result

This tutorial is the property of hollys closet.com and has been written as an assignment for Winni's How To Write Tutorials Lessons. You are welcome to link to it but do not claim it as your own.

What you'll need:

  1. PSP (I use version X but this can be done in any version)You can get a preview copy of version X2 Here
  2. A photograph of your choice. Photography is another hobby of mine and I used some of my own for this tutorial. I have included in the supplies the ones I used and an extra for you to try. Click Here You are free to use them for this tutorial but if you use them other than that I'd like copyright recognition. You can copy and paste this ©www.hollyscloset.com on your work. Other than that, of course, what you make is yours to use as you wish.
  3. You can also use a graphic. Whatever artist you use be sure you have permission to use their work and always remember to credit the artist on your tags in the fashion they require.
  4. For this tutorial I used what seems to be my favorite font, Comic Sans MS. It's readily available and is easy to read.
  5. There are no outside plugins needed for this tutorial.

Preparation

  • Open your photograph in PSP. Shift/D and close original copy.
  • Most of the time you will have to resize your photo to a manageable size probably no larger than 500 on the longest side.
  • You can save this image in the name you plan to use for your completed tag. This kicks in the automatic save feature in PSP if you have it set. I highly recommend you set it if you haven't done so already. You can do so at File/Preferences/Auto Save. Just click on enable auto save. I have mine set for 5 minutes. In any case...save often.

Now we're ready so let's begin.
