Travel Club "Comes Marching In" to New Orleans!
Eighteen Travel Club members trekked to New Orleans via an Adams Transport Bus,
A M T R A K, and (surprise, surprise) three black stretch limousines that met us at the train station. Only snag was the train was an hour and a half late at Anniston and we had an unexpected long walk to the deli for biscuits and coffee. The hotel was quaint and comfortable, all our meals (breakfast at Brennan's, Dinner at Arnaud's, River Dinner Jazz Cruise and including those on A M T R A K ) were fabulous and we all enjoyed our free time walking around the French Quarter and enjoying the abundant activities available in New Orleans. A high point was a city tour conducted by a very talented "m.c." who gave us an entirely different view of the city. The whole group felt the A M T R A K experience was great and we'd gladly try it again on another trip.
Coming up November 9/10 is the South Georgia Historical trip detailed in last month's Press, shopping in Boaz November 14, and several West Georgia College performances. In December we will see "Scrooge" at WGC, "Annie" at the Fox and "Holiday in the Park" at Six Flags. We have several openings for the "Christmas in Nashville" trip December 20/22 and, if you are interested call Bill or Launi Mills........to sign up.
Come to our next meeting November 12, 7 pm for dinner and to hear about all our plans.
