EARLY MORNING GOLF PERKS
Last week the Times-Georgian had an article and picture showing an armadillo that had been found dead in Carroll County quite a distance from here.
When Frankie Mills and I play golf first thing in the morning we often see families of deer (up to nine at one time) crossing the fairway. One very foggy morning a few weeks ago we saw a clumsy creature waddling at a fast pace across the #2 fairway. Since it was so foggy he might have thought it was still night and we surprised him. At first it appeared to be a opossum but it didn't look furry. Instead it seemed to be clad in armor. When I got home I checked the dictionary and decided much to my surprise that it must be an armadillo.
I don't think they found "our" armadillo but I was glad to know we weren't seeing things.
